Iowa Woman is Killed in Crash

Desoto, Wis – An Iowa woman was killed and three were hospitalized in serious condition Saturday night following a two car-accident on highway 35 one mile north of here.

The victim was Pearl Rettinger, about 60, Lansing, Iowa. Two companions – Mrs. John Thorsen and Mrs. Ed Batteen, also of Lansing were hospitalized as was the driver of the car, James Armoto, DeSoto.

The three women were in route to La Crosse to visit Mrs. Batteen’s hospitalized husband.
