Funeral services were held Saturday, March 8 at 2:30 pm. in Martin funeral home in Waukon for Leo Vernon Ehde, 61, of Postville, who died March 5. The Rev. Alvin Wolcott was the officiating minister and burial was in the English Bench cemetery. Leonard Crawford, Gerald Kurth, Verni Ehde, Kenneth Koth, Lloyd Bechtel, and Henry Miene Jr. were pallbearers.
Mr. Ehde was born Sept. 25, 1913 and a son of Carl and Esther Renne Ehde. He attended the local schools and was employed as a farmer. May 7, 1937 he married Pearl Sires in Decorah. She survives with six daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Darlena) Herman, Mrs. Ervin (Sharon) Gordon, and Beverly of Waukon. Mrs. Ron (Marlene) Stegen of Spring Grove, Minn. and Priscilla and Debra of Postville, and nine grandchildren. A brother Carlton and a sister Marie are deceased.
