John W. Hahn was born in Indianapolis, Ind., Dec. 22, 1855, and on Sept. 27, 1926, at 5:30 p.m. at his home at Dorchester, Iowa, he peacefully passed to his eternal reward.

Mr. Hahn grew to young manhood in Indiana and, with his parents, moved to Lewiston, Minn., at which place he was united in marriage to Miss Mar­garet Schafer.

To this union were I born twelve children, four of whom preceded him in death. Besides his wife he is mourned by eight children, namely, Mrs. Fred Smith, Mrs. Russel Lane, Mrs. Roy Sires, Mrs. Dan Sires of Dorchester, Mrs. James Sires of New Albin, Mrs. Ray Bulman of Leeds, N.D., Mr. Lee Hahn of Rendondo Beach, Calif., and Earl Hahn at home; also forty-one grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Deceased united with the Mt. Hope Presbyterian church in the year 1905.
