Eleanor Young breach of promise suit

Greetings,

Eleanor I. Jones, b. 1859 in Warren county, IA, married Cornelius Young in Adams county Dec. 24, 1874. Cornelius died of pneumonia Dec. 12, 1891, in Corning, leaving Eleanor with seven children aged 16 to 3 years old. They were Maude, Walter Edna, Josephine, Arthur, Gertrude and Sarah. I have never been able to learn who Cornelius' parents were. Marriage and death indexes are no help, and there are blanks were his parents names would be. But that's a different problem for another day.

On October 15, 1902, the Adams County Free Press reported that Eleanor had filed the first ever breach of promise suit in Adams county against Joseph Monosmith. She was seeking $5000, alleging that Monosmith had promised property when they became engaged. Monosmith sent word to the church where she was waiting to marry him that he had heard something about her and would not marry her.

I haven't found any follow up news stories relating the outcome of this lawsuit. I'm on the east coast, so I cannot go to the courthouse to search records. Does anyone here know of this case?
