Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Anderson, 62, of Morton Mills, who died Tuesday morning at 10:20 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Sewell was held at the Strand Church, conducted by Rev. Lawrence Searsback, pastor of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Atlantic. Burial was in the Strand Cemetery beside her husband who passed away April 29, 1930.
The music was by Mrs. Forest Parker and Mrs. Welch Pogue, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Earl Spiker. Pall bearers were her three sons and three sons-in-law, Joe Anderson, Orville Anderson, Orlo Anderson, Henry Peterson, William Behnken, and Ralph Sewell.
Anna Sarah Larson, daughter of Lars Larson and Thoroborg Persdatter Bjornson, was born April 5, 1874 in La Salle, Illinois. When a small child she moved with her parents to a farm north of Cumberland. She was married to Andrew Gunnell Anderson July 30, 1895. They lived on a farm near Lincoln Center for several years and later on a farm southeast of Grant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one son, Emmet LeRoy, who died at the age of two. The surviving children are Mrs. Henry Peterson, Villisca, Mrs. William Behnken, Anita, Iowa, , Mrs. Ralph Sewell, Atlantic, Iowa, Joe Anderson, Villisca, Iowa, Orville Anderson, Villisca, and Miss Lottie Anderson, Chicago; 11 grandchildren and 7 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Anderson was confirmed in the Nodaway Lutheran Church north of Cumberland, attended that church in the community where she lived and was a member of the Morton Mills Ladies Aid.
