Mrs. Mary Jane McCarty died Monday at her home, November 28, 1904, in Brooks of a complication of diseases at the age of 80 years, 2 months, and 6 day. The funeral will be held this morning at 10 o’clock at the home conducted by Rev. R. C. Rowley. Interment will be made in Prairie Rose Cemetery. Mrs. McCarty leaves four sons and two daughters, who will all be present at the funeral. They are as follows: John McCarty, Osceola; Will McCarty, Iveyville; Charles McCarty, Villisca; Mrs. Rebecca Melton, Norwich, and Dan and Miss Nancy at home. Mrs. McCarty was a good mother, friend, and neighbor and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
