Mrs. E. W. Day passed from this life Tuesday, September 4, 1917, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Mason, north of Nodaway. Funeral services were held at North Class Methodist church Thursday afternoon, and were conducted by Rev. A. Y. Cupp, of Carbon, assisted by Rev. W. H. Doyle. The body was laid to rest in Quincy cemetery, beside Mr. Day, who had passed away on the 13th of February, 1907.

Nancy Caroline Amdor was born in the state of Indiana, December 10, 1841, and was aged 75 years, 9 months and 6 days. She was married to Elwin W. Day December 24, 1867, at Lawrenceburg, Ind., who preceded her in death. Eight children were born to them, two dying in infancy and Charles Everett died September 27, 1890. The five children living are Omer Day, of Villisca; Mrs. John Friman of Hurley, S. D.; Mrs. J. C. Mason and B. F. Day, Nodaway; C. W. Day, residing on the home place. Fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren were born to them. Besides her children Mrs. Day leaves three brothers, Ed Amdor and Dr. F. P. Amdor, of Carbon, and James Amdor, of Wiesburg, Ind. Two sisters preceded her in death. They are Mrs. Mary Day and Mrs. Rhoda Vogel. Deceased was a member of the Methodist church and had been for a number of years.

Mrs. Day was a very patient sufferer for the last six weeks.

In Memoriam—Dearest mother thou are gone forever; how bitterly the thought sinks with a pang at the heart, yet we should not mourn for thee for thou are among the happy throng, with the loved ones gone before. Thou art there, beauteous star of that heavenly host shining around the great white throne of God. The palm of victory is in thy hand and the laurel on thy brow.
