MRS. LENA BAUER

Lena Bauer, the daughter of William H. and Laura Evans Jenkins, was born June 16, 1890 in Corning, Iowa, and passed away June 10, 1879 at a hospital in Sterling, Colorado. She lived at 425 Oak St., Sterling, Colorado.

She received her schooling in Corning, Iowa. January 20, 1909, she was married to Carl Henry Bauer. The couple lived in Corning were Mr. Bauer was co-owner of the Dodge-Plymouth Garage for many years.

Mrs. Bauer moved to Sterling, Colo. in 1943, following her husband’s death. She worked for Dr. LeRoy Chandler for many years during and after World War II. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Corning, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Jay E. (Helen) Beemer.

Survivors include her son-in-law, Jay E. Beemer of Sterling, Colo.; a grandson, James D. Beemer of Greeley, Colo. and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Chaney-Walters Funeral Home in Sterling June 12 at 2 p.m. , with Rev. Dr. Ivan E. Rundus officiating. Final rites were conducted at the Larkin-Roland Funeral Home in Corning, Iowa, June 14 at 3 p.m. with Joe Cook officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Corning, Iowa.

Music was provided by Irma Fuller, organist, and Donna Veatch, vocalist. Pallbearers were Kenneth Romer, Larry Antisdel, Ed Wheatley, Mart Miller, August Bauer and John Hinck.
