Frank W. Roberts, son of William and Sarah Ellen Haney Roberts, was born in Douglas Township, Adams County, Iowa August 5th, 1887 and died at 1:00 a.m., November 7th, 1951 at his home near Quincy, Iowa at the age of 64 years, 3 months, and 2 days. Death was due to a stroke suffered January 8th, 1950.
On August 30th, 1914, he was married to Cyrena M. Walford of Corning. To this union seven children were born.
He leaves to mourn his boss, his wife and the following children: Mrs. Joy Kneller, Mrs. Mary Howard, of Kansas City, Kansas; Mrs. Grace Shaw, Mrs. Wilma Gatton, of Oakland, California; Frank Roberts of Kansas City, Kansas, and Arlene Roberts at home; eleven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Figgins; and two brothers, John and James of Corning, and many other relatives and friends.
His father, mother, one infant daughter, Virginia, one sister, Mrs. Fannie Day preceded him in death.
He was a farmer during his lifetime and has always resided near Corning.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 11th at 2:00 p.m. at the Boyd Roland Funeral Home at Corning Services were conducted by Rev. Alfred Hunter. Rev. Ray Hays sand two songs, “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “Life’s Railway to Heaven” accompanied by Mrs. Hays. Pall bearers were Merton Lewellen, Harry Symonds, Ira Roberts, Charles Miller, Rolland Swartz, and Francis Lamboley. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery at Quincy.
The children were all present at the services, also the following relatives from a distance; Arthur Day, St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Haney, Glenwood, Iowa, Mr. and Mr.s James Jones, Omaha, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Luke, Ottumwa, Iowa; and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wolford, Omaha, Nebraska.
