William H. Roberts died Thursday at his home in Douglas Township of a complication of diseases, aged 57 years, 7 months, 21 days. The funeral was held Sunday at 11 o’clock at the Methodist Church at Carbon, conducted by Rev. A. Y. Cupp. Interment was made at Oakland Cemetery. Mr. Roberts was born in Bassingham, Lincolnshire, England, September 28, 1845. He emigrated to America in 1872 and resided for two years near Streator, Illinois, removing to Adams County in 1874. He was married December 30, 1878 at Carbon to Miss Ella Haney and five children were born to them, three sons, and two daughters. All were present at the funeral with the mother are left to mourn and recall the memories of a dear father and husband. Mr. Roberts was held in the highest esteem in the community in which he had lived so long and his death will bring regret to many friends in the county.
