Caron, Ia., Dec. 23, - Mrs. Leroy W. Olds, 84 years of age, is dead, a young daughter is thought to be fatally ill, and another daughter is very sick, the result of trichina, following the eating of raw pork. There are five daughters in the family.

About seven weeks ago when the fall butchering was done on the farm, Mrs. Olds sliced some raw pork thin and made it into sandwiches of which she was very fond and in which she often indulged. These she gave to her children also, all eating freely. The disease did not develop for some time, but after that its advance was rapids and its result fearful, causing intense suffering. Mrs. Olds was conscious at all times and fully advised as to her condition.

Mrs. Olds was born in Dawson County, Neb., where she and Mr. Olds were married, coming to Iowa a few years ago.
