Clifford Albertis Driskill

Clifford A. Driskill, 76, the son of Neil and Irene Sink Driskill, was born at Corning, Iowa, June 26, 1890 and entered into rest Thursday, November 23, 1965 at the home of his daughter-in-law, Ruth Driskill. He grew up and attended school in Corning.
As a young man he became a blacksmith with his father, a profession he followed throughout his life.
In early manhood, his family moved to Creston where he united in marriage to Grace Findley.
To this union was born one child, a son, Dean Carlos.
After the death of his first wife, he was united in marriage with Beulah Estelle Raney. To this union one child, a daughter, Elzine, was born.
He is survived by one daughter Elzine Wever and her husband, Charles; two grandchildren, Kent Wever and Phyllis Driskill Brokaw, a daughter-in-law, Ruth Driskill; four great-grandchildren, Phillip Andrew Wever, Randall Lee Brokaw, David Dean Brokaw, and Lynn Denise Brokaw, and a brother Don Driskill.
He was a member of the Methodist Church, a charter member of the Corning Gun Club, Chamber of Commerce, and Quarterback Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Dean, a granddaughter, Madeline Driskill, a half brother, Carl Shupe.
Mr. Driskill was a well known sportsman who particularly enjoyed fishing and particularly with his son Dean.
He loved his family and children and his grandchildren were the primary interest in his life.
He will be missed by his friends and the community.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 26, at 2 p.m. from the Methodist Church in Corning with Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Music was by Mrs. Bert Tranbarger, Mrs. Bert Peckham, and Mrs. Joe Cook. Flower bearers were Mrs. Kenneth Roland, Mrs. Raymond Moore, Mrs. Carl West, Mrs, Byron Stanley. Pall bearers were John Hinck, Max Lines, Cecil Costin, Fred Reubin, Dow Keever, Cifford Odell, Harry Morgan, and Don Hill. Interment was in Arlington Cemetery.
