Andrew Sorrenson who has lived for fifty-three years in Adams County and sixteen years in Corning, died at his home in the north part of town Tuesday morning. Mr. Sorrenson has not been well since last October and his illness took the form of a gradual decline until his death Tuesday. Funeral services wee held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. E. S. Menoher. Interment was made in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Andrew Sorrenson was born in Denmark September 3, 1844 and died July 17, 1928, aged 83 years, 10 months, and 15 days. He was married to Mary Katherine Jensen in Denmark and soon after his marriage came to America. Two years later his wife followed him and for a time they lived in Illinois. In 1875, they came to Adams County and located on a farm in Lincoln township where he lived thirty-seven years. Sixteen years ago he retired and they moved to Corning. Mrs. Sorrenson died one year ago the last day of April. Three children survive, these being Harry Williams of Tullan, Texas, Martha Elizabeth Colwell of near Carbon, and Mrs. Clara Louise Schaub who lived in the family home. There are also five grandchildren. Mr. Sorrenson united with the Lutheran Church in Denmark.
