Darl Foster Dhone, son of Albert L. and Jessie Perks Dhone, was born December 13, 1919 at Carbon, Iowa and passed away at the Veteran’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, April 10, 1976, at the age of 56 years, 3 months, and 27 days.
Carl attended grade school and high school in Carbon, Iowa, and except for military service, spent his entire life in Adams, County.
He is survived by his mother, Jessie Dhone, three brothers, Hollis Dhone and wife Quilla, Troutdale, Oregon, Stanley Dhone and wife Thelma of Troutdale, Oregon, Donnie Dhone and wife Deloris of Carbon, Iowa, two sisters, Audrey Moore and Vern of Corning, Iowa, and Vergie Routh and husband Warren of Boone, Iowa, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Carl received three honorable discharges from the U. S. Army Air Force. He served as Chief of Communications and as a cryptographer with the Air Force Security Service. He served in World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the Army Reserves.
Funeral services were held from the Larkin-Roland Funeral Home, April 12, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev, James King and Joe Cook officiating. Interment was in the Quincy Cemetery.
Organ music was provided by Dorothy Cook. Pall bearers were Steve Richey, Ralph Olson, Carroll Strait, Byron Swartz, Pat Moore, and Raymond Strait.
