Amanda Jane Dhone, daughter of John and Amanda Dhone, was born in Corning, Iowa on February 24, 1888 and entered into rest at the Rosary Hospital in Corning of Friday, September 9, 1955 at the age of 67 years, 8 months, and 15 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents and leaves to mourn her passing, one brother, Craig of Corning; a half-brother, Smith of Sioux City, and her step mother Mrs. Rose Dhone of Corning.
She lived in and around Corning all her life and will be greatly missed by relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 11, 1955 at 2 p.m. from the Free Methodist Church in Carbon with the Rev’s Alfred and Louis Hunter in charge. Interment at the Quincy Cemetery.
Music for the services were furnished by the Armstrong family.
Pall bearers were Harry Miller, Glen Hill, Jake DeVore, Fritz Townsend, Francis Murphy, and Charles Murphy.
