Mrs. Israel LaPorte died last fFriday at her home near Books after a long illness from consumption. The funeral was held Saturday morning at the Presbyterian Church south of Brooks. The case is an exceptionally sad one as the husband is very low with the same disease and can not live long and there are four children. Mrs. LaPorte was an excellent woman and many friends will mourn her.

Mrs. LaPorte passed away Thursday morning at her home north of town. She has been a sufferer for several years and patiently bore the throes of disease. She leaves an invalid husband and several children to which we extend our utmost sympathy and pray the Lord’s blessing on them. her remains were laid to rest in the Methodist Grove Cemetery. Funeral at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, conducted by Elder Hamburger, the Adventist minister.
