Mrs. Ellen Lynch died at her home south of Corning last Wednesday after a brief illness. Mrs. Lynch recently had an operation performed in an Omaha hospital and had been improving nicely when she suddenly took a backset and passed away after an illness of about 48 hours. Mrs. Lynch was born in County Ross common, Ireland, September 29, 1842. When about 5 years of age she came to America with her parents and they located in Dubuque. there she remained for some time and there she was married to James Lynch January 30, 1866. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom are living. Matt Lynch died fourteen years ago. The husband and father died in 1893. The surviving children are Mrs. Joe Sullivan of Mercer Township; Mrs. Bert Bentley, of Jasper township; Mrs. Everett McDonald, residing in Oklahoma; Joe Lynch, near Corning, Peter, James, and Miss Ella Lynch, who reside at home. Besides the children, Mrs. Lynch leaves three sisters, Mrs. Metta Lynch, Miss Lizzie Lynch, and Miss anna Lynch, also one brother, Matt Lynch, residing near Orient. The funeral services were held at the St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment was made in Calvary Cemetery.
