Ezra LaPorte, formerly a well known resident of Nodaway township, died last week in Michigan. He had been in poor health for a long time and had gone to various parts of the country in the hope of improvement. Death was caused by consumption. The remains were sent to this city last Thursday and were interred the same day in the M. E. Cemetery south of Brooks. The funeral was held at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. LaPorte was a man who was universally esteemed by neighbors and friends, who’s sympathy with him in his long illness was helpful many times.
