Levisa Jane Oilar, was born in Indiana June 16, 1839 and died of paralysis at the home of her daughter, Mrs Ralph Gibson in Carbon, Iowa, November 20, 1898, aged 60 years, 3 months, and 4 days.

Mr. and Mrs. Hollingsworth, together with their family moved to Adams County, Iowa in October 1878. Reared by Christian parents, she united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at the age of eighteen and has been a faithful and consistent member of the same church ever since. Mother Hollingsworth was always bright and cheerful, devoted to her home, her family, and church She died as she lived, without a doubt to her immorality. Six children survive, her son and five daughters, who were permitted to wait on her in her last illness, which they did with unmitting care; also a host of sympathizing friends, who deeply feel the loss of a kind friend, for to know her was to love her.
The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church in Carbon, November 21, 1898, conducted by Rev. A. Y. Cupp, assisted by Revs. Palmer and Mudd, and the remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband, in the Quincy Cemetery.
