Datis Robison, died at his home in Quincy, Iowa, Saturday morning, September 5, 1914 of heart disease. Mrs. Robison went to call him and found he had passed away. Funeral services were held at the Quincy Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. E. Garrett, assisted by Rev. A. Y. Cupp. Interment was made in the Quincy Cemetery.
Datis Robison was born in Indiana August 10, 1848, being aged 66 years and 26 days at the time of his death. He was married to Miss Eliza A. McKempson at Quincy, October 29, 1872 and to this union eleven children were born. All are living, except two, a son, Howard, who died in infancy, and a daughter, Josephine Dicks, who was burned to death in Nodaway, Iowa, May 9, 1909. The living children are Harmond Robison, Mrs. Neal Smith, William Robison, all of Carbon, Iowa; Mrs. Ben Rodman of Quincy, Iowa; John Robison of Winnet, Montana, Joe, Ira, May, and Harry all residing at home. Besides his wife and children, he leaves twenty-six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, an aged father-in-law, John McKempson; also three sisters and three brothers are living and he had three brothers who have not been heard from for sometime and it is not known whether they are living or not. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the bereaved ones in their time of sorrow.
