Frank Arnott, youngest son of Wash and Sarah Ellen Caldwell Arnott, was born March 14, 1879 near New Petersburg, Highland County, Ohio and entered into rest August 4, 1955 in Clarinda, at the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 20 days. He had been ill several months prior to his decease.
He was married March 14, 1901 to Margaret Gindlesperger at Greenfield, Ohio, and to this union two sons were born. His wife Margaret died in 1920 and on June 7, 1922 he was united in marriage to Grace Lucile Hunter.
He came to the Nodaway vicinity the last of August in 1902, and lived here the remainder of his life, except for a few years when he lived north of Villisca.
He was a member of the Nodaway Presbyterian Church.
Frank was a kind father and a devoted husband. He loved his home and was always ready and willing to help others. His friendly smile, cheerful disposition, jaunty walk, and his constant prayers for the community will be missed by his friends and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Grace and two sons, Ralph of Villisca and Delmar of Nodaway, two daughters-in-laws, two nephews, four nieces, two step-granddaughters, and a host of relatives and friends.
Services were held Sunday, August 7, 1955 at 2:30 p.m. from the Methodist Church in Nodaway, with the Rev. James Wilkins and Rev. William Niles in charge.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Malcolm Shipley and Mrs J. R. Demuxes, accompanied by Mrs. Gary Johnson. Mrs. Rose Stalder furnished organ music.
Pall bearers were John March, Martin Taylor, Roy Northwall, Paul Bennett, Clyde Vaugh, and C. M. Gile.
Flower bearers were Mrs. Mathew Bowman and Mrs. Levi Lane.
Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery.
