Esther Marie, daughter of Charles C. and Emily Ann Barker, was born east of Nodaway, July 27, 1905 where she spent her early life. She died October 18, 1946 at her home near Mt. Etna at the age of 41 years, 2 months, and 22 days.
Esther Marie was a graduate of the Nodaway High School in the class of '25, she also attended the State Teachers College at Maryville, Missouri.
December 21, 1929, Esther Marie was united in marriage to Delmar C. Arnott and spent the remainder of her life in Adams County with the exception of 2 years spent in Taylor County.
At an early age, Esther Marie took the Lord Jesus Christ a her personal savior and united the Methodist Church of Nodaway of which she was a member at the time of her death.
Esther Marie is survived by her husband, 4 sisters, 3 brothers. Her mother and father and a brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Church of Nodaway. Music was by Miss Harold Everett and MRs. Raymond Dismukes, pianist, Mrs. Martin Tailor. Pall bearers were J. P. Nelson, Lester Shaefer, Clarence Dixen, Gilbert Rider, Paul Everett, and Julius March.
Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery.
