Marie Crane Booe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Booe, born September 13, 1897, died August 11, 1899. Thus the short records of a short life came to a close. The hours that in the house were so long and sweet in living are so short in retrospect. The hopes and plans buried in that tiny grave are so many and so hard to part with. Yet we have a blessed assurance of her happiness we are sure.
One little Marie is gone,
How we miss this sweet little face;
Our home is so desolate now,
There is nothing can take a baby's place.

We'll fold up the little dresses,
With many a tear and a prayer.
That God in His tender compassion
Will help us our sorrow to bear.

But hark! did I hear a little voice,
A whisper that came from above.
Did it say our Marie was there
Safe folded in God's dear love.

Did I hear childish voice saying,
Dear papa and mama don't cray.
This home where I am is so lovely,
And you will come bye and bye.

Then through our tears and sorrow,
We'll murmur God's will be done
And walk in the way of his choosing,
Till he calls us also to come.
We are truly grateful for all the sympathy shown us, and the assistance given us during the sickness and death of our little daughter, Marie, and wish to thank our friends and neighbors the same.
