Mrs. Sarah Ellen Cooper died at her home in Carl township, March 25, 1899, aged 28 years, 8 months, and 4 days. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her for her beautiful devoted Christian life. She united with the First Baptist Church at a very early age and lived a faithful life to the end. She was the daughter of Hon Edmund Homan and Caroline Ellen Ramsey, was married to Wesley Cooper January 1, 1880. To them were born six children, of whom all and the husband survive her. She had been a great sufferer for a number of years and that dreaded disease la grippe fastened on her frail body, which cause her death. She faithfully endured all her afflictions without a murmur. The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. Sootons, at the First Baptist Church of Adams County, March 27, 1899. A large congregation gathered to sympathize and she was borne to her resting place. The bereft family have the hearty sympathy of all relatives and friends.
They desire to extend their thanks to the many friends who assisted them during Mrs. Cooper's illness and death.
