Enoch Mose Chance

The funeral services of the late Enoch Mose Chance were held at the Christian Church at Prescott, Monday at 2:30 conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. E. Treloar. Music was furnished by quartet. Interment was made in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Enoch Mose Chance, son of Wm. and Julia Chance was born near Chariton, Iowa in Lucas County, September 20, 1857 and died at his home in Prescott, Iowa, being at the time of his death, 67 years, 9 months, and 14 days. He united with the First Baptist Church in Adams County and was a faithful member until the time of his death. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and was laid to rest with the ritualistic ceremony of this order. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and four brothers, two sisters, nine grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends. His nephews acted as pallbearers.
The deceased will be missed in the community where he is so well known because of his excellent qualities which made him a devoted father and husband and a good neighbor. The many friends extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
