Roberts, Opal Catherine Clark -
Memorial services for Opal Roberts, age 92 of Corning, who died Wednesday, September
12, 2007, at the Corning Nursing &• Rehab Center were held Saturday, September 15,
2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Roland-Ritchie Funeral Home in Corning. Private family interment
of ashes was held, in the Lincoln Center Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the
Alzheimer's Association. Memories can be shared with the family on our web page

Ritchie Funeral Home of Corning.
Opal Catherine (Clark) Roberts was born September 21, 1914 in Orient, Iowa the
daughter of George Clark and Bertha L. (King) Clark. She grew up attending rural
schools and then attended the Creston High School. On April 6, 1954 she was
united in marriage to Dale Russell Roberts, and a son, Stanley, was born to bless
their marriage.
Opal and Dale loved working on the farm and the lifestyle it provided their
family. She looked forward to helping Dale, working side-by-side with him doing
the daily chores, tending her vegetable garden, canning the produce and taking
care of her flower beds. She was also a nurse who lovingly cared for many people
throughout her life. Opal was a wonderful cook who enjoyed baking for her family
and quilting when time allowed. She truly looked forward to spending time with
her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Lincoln
Center Church and the Ladies Aid.
Left to cherish Opal's memory are her son, Stanley Roberts and fiance Randy Day
of Corning; a brother, Harold Clark and wife Donna of Lenox; three grandchildren,
Tara Squibbs and husband Terry of Corning; Tammy Roberts and fiance Nathan Lens
of Creston; and Dale Roberts of Sioux City; two great-grandchildren, Mya Squibbs
of Corning and Jayson Lens of Creston; and a niece, Janelle Burroughs and husband
Vince of Wellman, Iowa; along with many other family members and friends.
Preceding Opal in death were her parents, George and Bertha Clark; her loving
husband, Dale Roberts in 1982; a brother, Cecil Clark; a sister, Maude Davis;
and a nephew Robert Clark.
Opal was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends.
