Wiese, Jerry Lee -
Funeral services for Jerry Wiese, age 56 of Corning, who died Wednesday,
July 18, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines were held
Monday, July 23, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Roland-Ritchie Funeral Home in
Corning. Interment was held in the Bohemian Cemetery. Memorials can be
given in his name. Memories can be shared with the family on our web page
www.ritchiefuneralhome.com under Obituaries. Arrangements were entrusted
to Roland-Ritchie Funeral Home of Corning.
Jerry Lee Wiese was born September 20, 1950, in Atlantic, Iowa the son of
Ernest Eggert Wiese and Gladys Josephine (Slezak) Wiese. He grew up attending
school in Corning, graduating from the Prescott High School.
Jerry was a man of many trades. During his younger years he tended the farm and
delivered milk. For the majority of his life, Jerry was known as a truck driver
and mechanic.
He enjoyed spending his time trap shooting, hunting, fishing, riding bikes, telling
stories and harassing fruit (Fruit Hog).
Left to cherish Jerry's memory are his children Wendy Wiese of Arizona;
Codie Wiese and wife Alysia of Corning; Kathy Groves and husband Terry of Afton;
Tony Wiese of Arizona; JJ. Wiese and wife Grace; and his sister Mary Lou Stephens,
all of Georgia; Jeremiah Wiese of Corning; and Sharhia Wiese of Corning; his
mother Gladys Wiese of Red Oak; a sister, Margaret Queck and husband
Gerald; a brother Lyle Wiese and wife Janelle; nephews Adam Wiese and wife
Stephanie; and Andy Wiese; and eleven grandchildren, Amanda, Taylor, Ivy, Alyssa,
Miranda, Patrick, Casey, Gavin, Logan, Kacee and Alex.
Preceding Jerry in death were his wife T.J. (Tempie); his father Ernest Wiese;
grandparents Lew and Anna Slezak; and Eggert and Sarah Wiese.
