Funeral services were held for Wilda Florene Bell on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at 1:30 pm at the United Methodist Church in Corning, Iowa. Officiating the service was Pastor Andrew Rubenking. The Eulogists were granddaughters Gina Bell and Traci Heim. The Casket Bearers were Jason Boswell, Justin Boswell, Dan Bell,
David Bell, Robert Heim, and David Heim. The Honorary Bearer was Brian Heim. The Interment was at the Oakland Cemetery at Quincy, Adams County, Iowa.
Wilda Florene was born on October 23, 1923, in Carbon, Iowa, to Emma Ruth and George Clinton Olson. Wilda spent her entire childhood in Carbon being as she was a coal miner's daughter. Eternal Rest occurred on Saturday, October 19, 2002, at the Corning Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 78 years 11 months and 26 days.
Wilda married Robert Bell in Bentonville, Arkansas on August 19, 1947. This past August they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. On May 8,1948, a daughter, Rosalee was still born. On November 30, 1949, a daughter, Diana Sue, was born.
Wilda was a member of the Corning United Methodist Church, which part of her life was dedicated to.
Wilda was also a member of the Corning Legion Auxiliary. Wilda worked at Turner's Department Store for 47 years. Her dedication to the late Austin Turner and his family and her service to her customers are beyond words.
Wilda is survived by her husband, Robert of Corning; her daughter, Diana (husband David) Heim of Urbandale, Iowa; four grandchildren, Gina Bell of Clive, Iowa, Robert Heim of Urbandale, Iowa, Traci Heim of Longmont, Colorado, and Brian Heim of Mildenhall AFB in England; and two great grandchildren, little Jackson and Georgia Bell, the Children of Tom
and Gina Bell. Wilda also leaves a sister, Georgia (husband Wayne) Goodvin of Corning.
Preceding Wilda in death were her parents and a brother, Ralph, who died in 1995.
