Mrs. J. M. Hall died at her home in Corning, Monday evening, July 8, 1912, at 11 o'clock after an illness of several years, from the effects of old age. Miss Nancy Park was born near Milford Centre, Ohio, March 24, 1828. She was married at the place of her birth to J. M. Hall, November 25, 1847, then located in Champaign County, Ohio, and there the ten children were born. The family resided in Ohio until 1874 when they moved to Logan County, Illinois, where they spent two years, then moved to Knox County, Illinois, where they remained six years, and from there came to Adams County, Iowa, locating on a farm south of Corning. Fifteen years ago the family located in our city. The husband and father passed away the 25th of July 1909. Of the then children born to Mr. and Mrs. Hall, two died in infancy, Henry Hall died in Corning about ten years ago, and Mrs. Lillie Devore died in Oklahoma, leaving six children who survive the parents. They are D. P. Hall of Artesian, South Dakota, Thomas of Adrian, Missouri, Frank of Santa Cruz, California, Harry residing in Taylor County; Mrs. Flora Woolsey of Maquda, Illinois, and Mrs. Stella Cashman of Gage, Oklahoma, all of whom with the exception of Frank, will be present at the funeral of their mother. Mrs. Hall was a very patient lady during her illness and was ready for the summons to depart this life. She had made many friends in Corning during her long residence here who join in extending sympathy to the surviving relatives. Besides the children mentioned, Mrs. Hall leaves one brother, Thomas Park, who is prevented from attending the funeral by sickness. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian Church, conducted by Rev. I. H. Fuller, pastor of the Christian Church of Prescott. The remains will be laid to rest in the Prairie Rose Cemetery beside the companion of many years.
