Florence M. Narigon, the daughter of Joseph and Lizzie Johnson Curry, was born April 23, 1898, in Lincoln Township of Adams County, Iowa, and entered into rest at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston, Iowa, March 26, 1986, at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 11 days.
She grew to womanhood in the Carbon community. She was united in marriage in 1927 to John M. Narigon. This marriage was blessed with the birth of one son, Eugene. John and Florence farmed in the Nodaway area from the time of their marriage until his death Jan. 13, 1963. She continued to make her home there until entering the nursing home in Corning five years ago. She was the last surviving member of her family, having been preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.
Those surviving to honor her memory are her son, Eugene Narigon of Prescott, Iowa; her daughter-in-law, Ardith Narigon of Prescott; three grandchildren, Gayle Snell and husband Dave of Harlan, Iowa, Ardith Narigon of Omaha, Neb., and John Narigon of Ames; three greatgrandchildren, Stephen, Everett, and Tina Snell; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at the Nodaway Cemetery, Nodaway, Iowa, March 28 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Elmer West officiating.
Casket bearers were Bud Hethcote, Harold Walter, Edward Hoyt, Charles Willett, Deane Breese and Don Narigon.
