Funeral services were held over the late Mrs. Albert Huntington by the side of the grave in Prairie Rose Cemetery last Sunday, March 10th. Owing to the disease being contagious and the family under quarantine no public funeral could be held at the time of her death so the method was taken by Mr. Huntington of performing the last funeral rites over his beloved wife. The sermon was preached by Rev. W. L. Dunlavy of Gravity, to a large concourse of friends and neighbors.
Lizzie Marie Bramow was born near Stringtown November 22, 1880, and died February 15, 1911, at the age of 30 years, 2 months, and 22 days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bramow and at the age of 16 years she graduated as a teacher in the German language from a private school conducted in Creston. During the same year she joined the Methodist Church at Prescott. On October 15, 1902, she was united in marriage to Chester Hertzog, who died about a year and a had after their marriage, and on March 31, 1909, she was married to Albert Huntington. Mrs. Huntington was a woman universally loved and respected by all who knew her and one that loved, cherished and appreciated her happy home. She was always found attending to her household duties and affectionally and lovingly caring for her baby and three motherless children that were in her last home on this earth, over which she presided but two short years. Her death caused by heart failure and scarlet fever in the light form, came as a shock to the community. The tenderest sympathy is extended to the sorrowing husband and relatives with the kindly assurance that in the future al will again unite in the home that God has prepared for all his true and loving children. Besides her husband, one daughter, Violet, aged 13 months at the time of her mother's death, and three step-children, Gracie, Ralph, and Mary, she leaves her mother, Mrs. John Bramow; one brother, Frank Bramow of Prescott; three sisters, Mrs. J. C. Wallace, Groom, Texas, Mrs. H. C. Knolla, of Corning, and Mrs. Amdor Peterson of Iveyville.
