Dora Elizabeth, beloved wife of Frank Chappell, departed this life, Friday, November 9, 1906, at the home of her father, N. C. Scott, 11 miles south of Corning. She was born in Holt Township, Taylor County, Iowa, December 5, 1880, and at the time of her death she was aged 25 years, 11 months, and 4 days. Her first husband, Alfred Harris, died six weeks after they were married, and on december 25, 1901, she was united in marriage to Frank Chappell. Besides the husband, she leaves a little daughter, Rose Ethel, 8 years old. Her illness lasted for a year and during the last 3 months she was with her parents and sisters, where no pains were spared to care for her during her last days. Funeral services were held Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Fairview Christian Church conducted by Rev. J. W. Ackley assisted by Rev. Alonzo Thomas. The burial took place in Prairie Rose Cemetery attended by a vast concourse of Friends and neighbors who paid tribute to the departed and sympathize with the bereaved family.
