After an illness of about four weeks, William Beatty died at his hoe on a farm near Nodaway, Monday morning about 3 o'clock. His passing away is sorely felt by his immediate kindred, his comrades, and all the people of this vicinity who esteemed him. He was an honest Christian man. He was born in Pennsylvania on August 23, 1833, and was 73 years old at the time of his death. He leaves one son and one daughter to mourn their loss. Mr. Beatty was a veteran of the Civil War, serving in Co. K. 2nd Red, O. V. Artillery. The funeral will be at the home, Tuesday at 11 o'clock.
