Windom, Agnes Helen Hendrickson -
Agnes Helen Hendrickson, daughter of Goodman H. and Sarah Anderson Hendrickson, was born February 7, 1904 at Nodaway, Iowa and passed away Monday, June 24, 1968, at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska after a lingering illness.
She was united in marriage to Glenn Alvin Windom on May 27, 1923 at Creston, Iowa shortly after which they moved to Maryville, Missouri where they resided
for one year before moving to the Fairfield and Clay Center, Nebraska communities where they lived 8 years. In 1933 they moved to Logan, Iowa where they lived one year before returning to the Adams county area where they were engaged in farming until 1962. At that time they retired from farming and returned to the Clay Center, Nebraska area.
To this union four children were born: Mrs. Sarah Pauline Barnes of Overland Park, Kansas, Mrs. Beverly O'Riley of Lenox, Iowa, Dr. Dean Windom of Bethany, Missouri, and Mrs. Marilyn Wurster of Colorado Springs, Colorado, one daughter-in-law, Joan Windom and 3 sons-in-law: Stanley Barnes, Harold O'Riley, and Gary Wurster, five granddaughters and five grandsons and one great grandson. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Velma Cain of Ollie, Iowa, two brothers, Marion Hendrickson of Nodaway, Iowa, Henry Hendrickson of Lincoln, Nebraska, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Glenn of Big Springs, Nebraska.
Her special interests were her family, friends, flowers, and church. She was always active in the church and affairs of the community where ever she was
living. At the time of her death she was a member of Chapter 217 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Christian Church in Clay Center, Nebraska. She
will be greatly missed by all who knew her and it was with her strong faith in God that she has endured these past few weeks of suffering.
Funeral services were held from the Christian Church in Clay Center, Nebraska June 26, 1968, conducted by Rev. Don Burkum. Music was furnished by
Rev. Don Burkum, soloist, and Mrs. Jerry Kehn, organist. Pallbearers were Ronald Hendrickson, Carl Dahlsten, Harold Briggs, Joe Peshek, Allen Wilkins,
John Knox. Eastern Star Rites were conducted toy Chapter No. 217.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church in Nodaway, Iowa, June 27, 1968, conducted by Rev. .Lester Moore. Music was furnished by Rev.
Don Burkum, soloist, and Mrs. Dan Schaffer, organist. Pallbearers were Ronald Hendrickson, Donald Means, Terry Lundquist, Hugh Barnes, Malcolm Shipley, and Paul Lund. Burial was in Nodaway Cemetery.
