Mrs. Pearl Cox, wife of Richard Cox, former Lenox resident, died Sunday, May 14th in a Nursing Home in Glenwood, Iowa.
Mrs. Cox was a niece of Mrs. Lillie Menoher and a cousin of Mrs. Virgil Vincent.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Roland Funeral Home in Corning at 2:00. Burial was in Prairie Rose Cemetery near Corning.

Lara Pearl Cox, daughter of Sarah B. Monahan and Robert Bruce West was born October 14, 1882, on a farm in Taylor county where she attended country
school and grew to womanhood. She became On October 11, 1905 she was united in marriage to Richard W. Cox. To this union four children were born: a son, who died at birth and three daughters,
Mrs. Truman (Grace) Payne of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Garreld (Edith) Baker of Glenwood, Iowa; and Mrs. Henry (Aleda) Carlson of Omaha, Nebraska.
After farming for 29 years in Holt township, Taylor county, the family moved to Lenox where they resided for five years before moving to Glenwood, Iowa.
For several years Mrs. Cox lived in Corning, Iowa and assisted in the care of her invalid mother. During this time Mr. Cox was employed in Omaha. In 1956 they purchased a home in Omaha where Mr. Cox passed away in March 1959. Shortly after his death Mrs. Cox's health failed and she spent several years in nursing homes in Omaha.
In July 1965 she was moved to Lakeview Manor in Glenwood, Iowa where she remained until late April of this year, when she was transferred to the Glenhaven
Home, also in Glenwood. Here she resided until her death May 14, 1967. Mrs. Cox was a kind and loving wife and mother. She was very thoughtful of her relatives
and friends, and seldom missed sending cards on their birthdays. Just before she became critically ill she selected a card to be sent to her lifelong friend.
In addition to her three daughters, Mrs. Cox leaves to mourn her passing three granddaughters and one great grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Fudge and Mrs. Hazel Wetzel, both of Corning, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Roland Funeral Home in Corning, Wednesday afternoon, May 17 at 3:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Paul Williams.
Interment was in the Prairie Rose cemetery. Pallbearers were John Keefe, James Keefe, Dean Leonard, Cleo Wetzel, Ralph Huntington, and Lloyd West.
