Clark, Nellie Margaret Ross -
Mrs. Harold T. (Nellie) Clark, 45, of Stringtown, was instantly killed late Saturday afternoon when her automobile collided with a pickup truck at the junction
of highways 34 and 25, about 10 miles southwest of Creston. Officers who investigated the accident said Mrs. Clark lost control of her car after it had
been in a collision with an automobile driven by James E. Ray, 37, of Cromwell. The Clark car went over the center island dividing the traffic lanes at the intersection
and ran head on into the side of the pickup truck driven by Clifford Miller of Corning.
Sheriff Lloyd Leonard of Adams county said Mrs. Clark was going east. Ray drove into the intersection from the north as he was taking a boy to the doctor;
His car and that of Mrs. Clark clipped each other and the Clark car went out of control. Mrs. Clark's car was torn apart in the collision with the pickup truck. The top and left side were torn off. The pickup truck also was damaged extensively. It went off the north side of the highway and stopped in the ditch.
Miller was not hurt but his son, Garland, 15, who was a passenger in the truck, suffered minor injuries.
Officers said that charges of failing to yield the right of way have been filed against Ray.
Memorial services for Mrs. Clark were held Tuesday, August 22, 2:00 P. M. at the Lenox Christian church. Rev. David Shaeffer officiated.
