Jessie Edith, daughter of the late Madison and Effie Ross, was born in Adams County, Iowa, December 20, 1892 and passed away January 1, 1959 at the University Hospital in Iowa City, at the age of 65 years and 11 days.
She was united in marriage to Fred A. Higgins October 12, 1910 in Page County, Iowa and to this union four children were born, Mrs. Belva Schenck, Mrs. Opal Brown, Mr. James Higgins, all of Omaha, and Mrs. Maxine Mack who preceded her in death in 1948.
she is survived by her husband and three children, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; also six brothers, Merle and Estle Ross of Nodaway, Harold Ross of Aurora, Illinois, Clarence Ross of Jefferson, Wayne Ross of Prescott, Chester Ross of Des Moines, three sisters, Mrs. Pansey Schroeder, Mrs. Fern Dillinger of Corning, Wilma Zuber of Des Moines. One sister, Vera Ross died in 1928.
she is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a great many friends.
The funersl service was held at the Sutphen's Funeral Home in Villisca on January 6, 1959. Interment was at Prairie Rose Cemetery.
