Mary Ann Markley Bixler
Mary Ann Bixler, nee Markley, near Hoyt, Adams County, Iowa, November 17, 1896, aged 67 years. She was born in the state of Ohio and was
married to her now bereaved husband on November 9, 1848 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. To them were born eleven children, five living, six having preceded their mother in death.
In 1854, she with her husband, removed to Adams County, where she resided, until her death, which was very sudden, but not unexpected as she had been in feeble health for several years. She united with the
M. E. Church in her youth and remained a worthy and acceptable member of the same until her death.
Father Bixler feels heavily the irreparable loss. May the God of all grace, comfort the bereaved and grant them all a happy reunion in Heaven. The funeral was largely attended, conducted from the family residence by the writer, assisted by Rev. Mr. Sparks, of the M. E. Church.
Interment made in the Quincy cemetery. Father Bixler and the children have the sympathy of their many
friends.
