Vera Bowman Bryson, aged 93, passed away January 13, 2006, at her home in Vista, California. She was born to A.C.(Alfred) and Hattie White Bowman on January 26,1912, in Adams County, Iowa. She graduated from high school in Villisca, Iowa,in 1930. She was a resident of Long Beach, Huntington Park and Maywood, California for 22 years and Huron, South Dakota, 16 years, before moving to Vista in 1985. Much of her life was spent as a bookkeeper and secretary.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charlie Bryson, on September 10, 1999, and a brother, Elmer Bowman, in 1988. She is survived by a son Duane (Diane) Bryson of Vista, California; a son, Byron (Tanya) Bryson of Oceanside, California; a sister-in-law, Arlene Madison, of Creston, Iowa; grandchildren, Katherine Alrisa, Travis Bryson and Pamela Wolfe; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 19th, noon to 1 p.m. at Eternal Hills Mortuary. The funeral services will be held January 19th, 1-2 p.m. at Eternal Hills Chapel. Eternal Hills Mortuary is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to Hospice By The Sea, 312 South Cedres Avenue, Suite 250, Solana Beach, California.
