Phillip H. Kennedy, son of Edward and Sarah Kennedy, was born April 8, 1888, the eighth of ten children, on a farm south of
Nodaway. He passed away November 16, 1978 in Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa, at the age of 90 years. 7 months and 8 days.
He spent his active years farming in Adams County.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Paula Strait and husband Wayne and Mrs. Loye Bloomquist and husband Don; one son, Phil Kennedy, Jr.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Winifred McClelland and Nellie Kennedy, both of Villisca: numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Larkin-Roland Funeral Home in Corning November 20 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. W. H. Sinning officiating. Interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery at Nodaway, Iowa.
Organ music was provided by Erma Fuller. Pallbearers were William Arbuckle, Wayne Bloom, Kenneth Kennedy, David Strait, Wayne Strait and Wayne Messer.
