Mrs. Otho Brown passed from this life at her home, near Iveyville, on Wednesday, April 4th, after having undergone a surgical operation on Saturday, before, from which she had not the strength to recover. funeral services were held at the M. E. Church in Iveyville, Friday afternoon, April 6th, conducted by Rev. J. Owen Smith, of New Market, assisted by Rev. E. A. Jackson of Brooks. The body was laid to rest in the Prairie Rose Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown, formerly Ruby Pearl Gill, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Gill of corning. She was born May 29, 1897, on the home place south of Iveyville, being aged 25 years, 10 months, and 6 days, when her young life so full of promise and service to loved ones was suddenly cut off. The subject of this sketch grew to womanhood in the vicinity of her birth and was married to Otho Brown, of the same community on the 9th day of April, 1917. To Mr. and Mrs. Brown one child was born, Otho Wayne, aged about eight months. Mr. Brown leaves to mourn her loss her husband and son; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Gill, two brothers, Harold A. and Clifford F. Gill, residing on the home farm; also a large number of other relatives and friends. The deceased lady was held in high esteem and will be missed by many friends who join in extending sympathy to those bereft of their loved one.
