Final rites were held Saturday. Sept. 17. at the Coen Beaty Funeral Home In Corning for Grace Pearle Mitchell, 95, of Corning. The Rev. Steve Bullard officiated with burial In the Prairie Rose Cemetery, Corning.
Casket bearers were Don Mach, Dave Harvey, Ron Tekippe. Glen Hickman. Earl Mitchell and John Mitchell. Honorary bearers were Lori Mach, Brad Booth, Doug Booth, Kim Gaskill, Katina Mach, Chris Gaskil, and Joan Tekippe.
Mrs. Mitchell was born Feb. 4, 1893, near Brooks in Adams County. She died Sept 14, 1988. at Colonial Manor in Corning. She was the daughter of William and Jessie Sisk Myers.
She attended school at the Fairway country school in the Brooks area. On Nov. 14, 1915, she married John Mitchell at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Myers. Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1965. After his death, she remained in her home until 1979 when failing health prompted her to move to the Colonial Manor. She celebrated her 91st birthday with family and friends on Feb. 4,1984.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Wilma Fern Booth, five sisters,
three brothers and son-in-law. Glen Septer.
Survivors include one daughter, Lois Evelyn Septer of Coming; one son. Glen Marshall Mitchell and wife June of Council Bluffs; son-in-law. Paul Booth; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fern Goldsmith of Corning and Flossie Goldsmith of Stanton.
