Charles J. King, son of Jacob and Isadora McCulcheon King, was born in Page county, near Hepburn, Iowa, January 9, 1880 and passed away at the Murphy Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, November 1, at he age of 86 years.
He grew up in the community of his birth and was a farmer all of his life until retiring. December 26, 1912. he was united in marriage to Lena M. Kendrick al Clarinda, la. They lived in the North Grove and Guss communities most of their married life, and also farmed near Brooks and Corning. In 1959, they retired, moving from the Villisca
community lo Red Oak.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his wife, who died September 9, 1965. He is survived by four children: Ora King, Odessa, Tex.; Mrs Ruby McKee, Estherville, Iowa; Virgil King and Mrs. Velda Beck both of Red Oak; one brother, Ross King of Brooks; one sister, Mrs. Dora Beck of Toppenish, Washington; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in VillLsca, Nov. 3 at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. George S. Snyder. Interment was in the cemetery al Guss, Iowa.
