Edward Kerr Bridge, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Bridge was born on November 25, 1877 in Ohio and passed away October 14, 1963 at the Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa at the age of 85 years, 10 months, 19 days.
He was united in marriage to Lottie E. Geary on August 22, 1907. She preceded him in death on December 23, 1960. They were privileged to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary together on August 22, 1957.
Ed is survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife mentioned above, he was preceded in death by three sisters.
He was a member of the Corning Methodist Church.
His niece Gladys Davis made her home with him since the passing of his wife.
In a sentence or two one could summarize a word of tribute in this manner. Ed was not one to complain. He enjoyed his friends and made a lot of friends. he particularly like the smaller children. He was very active in the carpentry trade here in former years and has laid down his present tools only to use a new set of tools and complete greater tasks in Heaven.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 17, at 1 p.m. from the Methodist Church in Corning with Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Music was by Mrs. Bert Peckham, Mrs. Doyle Tranbarger, and Mrs.. Joe Cook. Pallbearers were Marvin Lockwood, Wilbur Harlow, Stanley Hoselton, James Geary, Larry Geary, and Harold Crisp. Interment was in the Prairie Rose Cemetery.
