Francis George Thomas
Frank G. Thomas, 87, of Woodbine, formerly of the Corning area, was born Aug. 24, 1902, at Brooks to Willard and Faye Thomas. He died Jan. 9, 1990, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine.
He lived most of his life In the Corning area where he was a livestock hauler for 40 years and farmed until 1972. On May 9. 1922, he married Mildred Reason In Atlantic. She preceded him In death in June 1973. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dorothy, and another daughter, Wanda Markum in 1974.
Survivors include five daughters, Margie (Mrs. Edward) Fort of Red Oak, Betty (Mrs. Dale) Bowman of Corning, June (Mrs. Walter) Blizzard of Council Bluffs, Dixie (Mrs. Gene) Stieber of Red Oak and Norma Jean (Mrs. Michael) Ruberti of La Vista, Neb.; three sons. Norman "Sam" (wife Barbara) Thomas and Clifford (wife Deloras) Thomas of Mineola and Dale E. (wife Anita) Thomas of Creston; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren: two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Laura Fudge of the Colonial Manor in Corning.
Services were held Jan. 12 at Saint John's Lutheran Church In Mineola with the Rev. Don Wilkowskl officiating. Graveside services were held the same day at Prairie Rose Cemetery at Corning with the Rev. Douglas Bowman officiating.
