Edmund Burson Homan
Ed Homan, 96, Marshalltown, was born to Albert and Clarissa Foote Homan on Sept. 15, 1900, in Adams County. He died July 12. 1997, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
He attended schools in Adams County and New Mexico. He was married to Katy M. Fudge Feb. 27, 1927, at Corning. They were divorced in 1936.
Mr. Homan moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1937 where he worked as a barber for more than 50 years. He retired In 1981 and moved to Creston in 1988. In June 1989 he moved to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
He served in the United States Navy from 1942 until 1945 and was a lifetime member of the VFW in Denver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Charles Homan; great-grandson Brian Burgmaier; and son-in-law Ronald Schrodt.
He is survived by a daughter Evelyn (husband Vernon) Lyons, Creston; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two greatgreat-
grandchildren; and sister Edith Dustin. Farmington. New Mexico. .
Services were held July 14 at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. James McCutchan. pastor of Assembly of God in Creston officiating. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorials are to be established in his name.
