Goldie Bunting Cooper, daughter of Orville D. and Margaret Lee Bunting, was born January 29, 1887 on a farm north of Corning, Iowa and passed away on March 29, 1965 at the age of 73 years and 2 months at the Crest Haven Nursing Home at Creston, Iowa after an illness of several weeks.
Most, of. her life had been spent in the Corning vicinity until she and her husband moved to Creston after their retirement from their farm life in Adams County.
On August 6, 1908 she was united in marriage to Walker Cooper of Corning and to this union one daughter, Velma was born. Mrs. Cooper was always a faithful and loyal member of the Corning Baptist Church until she moved to Creston, but her membership remained in the Corning Church. She was a cheerful, loving wife and mother and enjoyed her home and family above all else.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ernie and Pearl Bunting, both of Corning, and her only daughter, Velma. she leaves to mourn her passing her devoted husband, Walker Cooper of Corning, her only grandchild, Patricia Robison of Omaha, her son-in-law, Harold Boyd of Creston, one brother, Orville Bunting of Corning, two sisters, Mrs. Eva Bradley of Corning and Mrs. Carrie Richards of Greenfield, besides a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Keating Funeral Home in Creston on March 31, 1965 and interment was at the Hill of Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth Bunting, Clifford Bradley, Vern Richards, Orval Cooper, Ralph Cooper, and Charles Miller.
