Margaret Ann Lee Bunting, was born April 17, 1863 in Marion County, Iowa and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walker Cooper of Corning, Iowa, September 26, 1924, age 61 years, 5 months, 15 days.
Her father died on the battlefield of the Civil war before she was born and her mother four years later. She was reared in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hill. She and her brother came to Woodbury County, Iowa in 1889. she was married to Orville D. Bunting at Sioux City, Iowa, September 6, 1881. to this union were born seven children. Harvey died at the age of 8 years, July 23, 1900. the remaining children are as follows: Mrs. Carrie Richards near Bridgewater; Mrs. Goldie Cooper, Mrs. Eva Bradley, Pearle Bunting, Ernie Bunting, and Orville Bunting, all of this community and were with the mother through her sickness and death.
Mr. and Mrs. Bunting moved on a farm in Adams County in 1882, west of Mt. Etna where they remained for four years when they purchased and moved to the Bunting farm in Quincy township. together they lived on this farm for twenty-nine years until Mr. Bunting's death in 1916. She remained on the farm four years when she moved to Corning and has ever since made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Goldie Cooper.
The deceased united with the Evangelical church after her conversion and thirty-three years ago, with her husband she united with Adams County First Baptist Church of which she was a faithful member, earnest and devoted worker, and will be greatly missed. Besides her family, she leaves to mourn her death, nine grandchildren, one brother, Harvey Lee of Washington.
Short services were held at the home at 1 p.m. Saturday. The funeral sermon was preached by her former pastor, Rev. Richmond Smith of Red Oak, Iowa, at Adams First Baptist Church and interment was by the side of her husband. Music was furnished by a quartet, Mrs. Clem Smith, Ida Cupp, Chester Fox, and Dr. Millard Human. Mrs. J. E. Treloar presiding at the piano.
