Alice Lawrence Oleson, daughter of James and Matilda Lawrence was born in Indiana, January, 1863 and died October 23, 1936 aged 72 years, 9 months, and 26 days. She was married Aril 14, 1882 to Thomas Oleson and to this union was born five daughters and one son. The children who survive are Mrs. Vonnie Groff of Nodaway; Mrs. Ada Lane, Prescott, Ernest Oleson, Sheridan, Wyoming, Mrs. Esther Beck of Sharpsburg. Her husband died three years ago and two children, Edith and Mary preceded their mother in death. She is survived by 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, and one brother, John Lawrence of Lynnville, Iowa.
In early life Mrs. Oleson was identified with the Church of God, but in recent years has attended the Fairview Christian Church and was very faithful as long as health permitted. Her patience in suffering and the sweetness of her disposition has left a memory her family and close friends will cherish.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Fairview Christian Church conducted by Rev. Zook of Nodaway. Burial will be made in the Prairie Rose Cemetery. Pall bearers were John Walters, Dan Lynch, Arthur Lundquist, Lou Rimmer, Bert Williams, Bryon Butler.
Her brother, John Lawrence of Lynnville, Iowa and her son Ernest Oleson of Sheridan, Wyoming came for the funeral.
