Levi Jacsson died at his home south of Corning, Friday, February 4, 1916, at 1:45 a. m., aged 61 years, 3 months
and S days.
The funeral services were conducted at his home last Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, being conducted by Rev. Hugh C. Guy, pastor of the Christian church and Rev. F. L. Roper, of the Baptist church. The sermon text was 1 Cor. 15:58. After the sermon the Masons, who attended in a body, conducted their ceremony in honor of this deceased member of the lodge. The remainder of the services were concluded at the grave.
Levi Jackson was born in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, October 12, 1855. He moved with his parents to Henry County, Illinois. In 1874 he was married to Sadie Hixinbaugh and to this union were born two children, Mrs. Clara Humphrey and Miss Anna Jackson, both of Corning, Iowa. Mr. Jackson moved to Iowa in 1878 and has lived in this state ever since. He leaves a most devoted and faithful wife, two daughters, one granddaughter, one brother and two sisters. Mr. Jackson united with the Fairview Christian Church in Taylor County, Iowa, a number of years ago and has been a faithful member ever since.
Mr. Jackson will long be remembered as a very cheerful soul and a most congenial man. He was kind hearted and a good neighbor and for these reason he will be missed by friends and relatives alike.
